In 2017, two old friends from Trois-Rivieres (Quebec), guitarist Alain ‘Delo’ Deslauriers (former Chronical Disturbance, Outrage) and bassist Marc Chevalier started composing a few songs for the pleasure of creating music coming straight from their gut. Influenced by metal bands like Black Sabbath and Slayer, they built the foundations of what would later become Darksider.
A few months later, guitarist and longtime friend David Steines joined the band and started composing with them. After auditioning a few drummers, Patrick Béliveau (former Ancestral Curse, Sons of Seth) joined the band in 2018 and completed the actual band line-up.
Darksider’s music can be described as sinister, dark and loud metal. Their sound sits somewhere between a V12 engine with open exhaust and a horde of Vikings destroying a church. Their very first album has been recorded and mixed at Radicart Studio by no other than Francis Perron (known for the acclaimed Voivod ’’The Wake’’) and will be released later in 2019.
